Navy Lodge Atsugi
NAF Atsugi lies in the heart of the Kanto Plain on Honshu island, the main island of Japan. Atsugi is approximately a one hour drive or 1.5 hour train ride to Tokyo. The closest military installation to Atsugi is Camp Zama, a U.S. Army Garrison, which is roughly 30 minutes away. Command Fleet Activities Yokosuka is just over an hour away.
Navy Lodge Atsugi is conveniently located near on-base family resources such as the Navy Exchange, commissary, tennis courts, bowling alley, 18-hole golf course, movie theater, post office, Branch Health Clinic, two fitness centers, a pool and base clubs. Several eateries, including the NEX Food Court, are conveniently located within walking distance of the lodge.
The nearest airports to Navy Lodge Atsugi are Haneda Airport and Narita International Airport. Both offer international flights. Haneda is located approximately one hour from base, and Narita, the larger of the two, is roughly two hours away.
Navy Lodge Atsugi is located near many attractions in Japan, including beautiful beaches and local shopping malls. Other attractions include the Great Buddha in Kamakura, beautiful lakes and Fuji views in Hakone, the juxtaposition of new and old in Tokyo, eating dumplings in Yokohama's Chinatown, multiple zoos, Tokyo Disneyland and a Japan-only Disney park called DisneySea. If you're missing home, you can even find familiar restaurants nearby, such as Red Lobster and Outback Steakhouse.
